Employee Qualifications
Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs)
Must hold a license to practice Practical Nursing in Massachusetts.
Should have a minimum of one year of work experience as an LPN.
Physical Therapists
- Must have graduated from a Physical Therapy curriculum approved by the American Physical Therapy Association, the Council on Medical Education and Hospitals of the APTA; or the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association in collaboration with the American Physical Therapy Association.
- Must hold a license as a physical therapist by the Massachusetts Division of Registration in Allied Health Professionals.
- Must have passed a proficiency exam from the U.S. Public Health Service or have two years of experience.
- Must have a minimum of one year work experience as a physical therapist.
Registered Nurses (RNs)
- Must hold a license to practice professional nursing in Massachusetts.
- Must have a minimum of one (1) year of work experience as a professional nurse.
- Global Care of Massachusetts prefers that the nurse applicant has completed a baccalaureate degree program approved by the National League for Nursing for public health nursing preparation.
Physical Therapy Assistant
- Must be a graduate of an approved school giving a course of no less than two years in physical therapy.
- Must hold a license as a physical therapy assistant by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Allied Health Professionals.
- Must have a minimum of one year work experience as a physical therapy assistant.
Occupational Therapists
- Must be a graduate of an Occupational Therapy school approved by the Council on Medical Education of the American Occupational Therapy Association.
- Must hold a license as an occupational therapist by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Allied Health Professionals.
- Must have a minimum of one year work experience as an occupational therapist.
Occupational Therapy Assistant
- Must be a graduate of an approved school giving a course of no less than two years in occupational therapy.
- Must hold a license as an Occupational Therapist Assistant by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Allied Health Professionals.
- Must have a minimum of one year work experience as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
Home Health Aides
- Must have completed at minimum, a 9th grade education or equivalent, and have reading and writing skills necessary to perform their job.
- Must have completed an Aide training program of at least 75 hours which conforms to state and Federal requirements.
- Must possess a certificate of course completion.
- Must have the maturity necessary for establishing and maintaining a good working relationship with the patient, the patient’s family, and Global Care of Massachusetts’ staff
- Must have a sincere interest in caring for the sick and disabled at home.
- Must score at or above the cut-off established for competency testing.
